Un Advertise!

The Public Ad Campaign staged a protest of sorts this weekend. Art, and arrests ensued…here is what the NYTimes says.

Coalition Of Reason

These words are part of a coordinated multi-organizational advertising campaign designed to raise awareness about people who don't believe in a god. The prominent ads will go up Monday, October 26, in a dozen Manhattan subway stations. Placed by Big Apple CoR, the New York City Coalition of Reason, with funding from the United Coalition of Reason, the ads feature an image of blue sky and clouds with the words superimposed over.

A Mild: Follow Your Heart (TV Spot)

I think the concept has been wasted on the wrong direction. This would have worked better as an ANTI SMOKING 'ad'...ie. this addiction STICKS with you like a SHADOW, it follows EVERYWHERE you go, and you can kick it by taking that LEAP...etc. I hate the reference to the blackface... ok concept--->wierd direction… nice video though…

NOOK

Remember that revolutionary idea we've all had to efficiently and esthetically digitize books? Well it's finally been done, and it's called NOOK!
Using latest technology called e-ink and the ergonomic design of modern media devices, the Nook allows you to download your favorite e-books right onto your portable screen and 'flip' through the virtual pages without the worry of cluttering up your bookshelves! Oh, and of course there's that green benefit no one can forget about; NO PAPER!

FIFA Earth

This is some incredible Flash work from Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam for EA's FIFA‘10. Check it out here.

Slash

The Museum of Art and Design has a new exhibit about paper, Slash. Cut paper. Torn paper. Burned, lasered, and shredded paper. MAD is free to Pratt students.

Sure, it's just a promotion for The Simpsons, but how cool would it be to win?

Beautiful women, beautiful wit

This is an example of how effective simple imagery can be

Click on the photo to view the full ad. Volkswagen ads are always playful and witty. They are as effective as they are entertaining.
Interactive advertising could be the wave of the future. Advertising can evolve to cater to and target groups or even individuals. Yes, it sounds very minority report but it seems almost inevitable with the progression of technology.

I was listening to this song incessantly this summer. Even if you dislike the song the imagery in the video is sick. The colors and the mood of the video are strange and dreary. That is why I was attracted to it.

amazing

Nature displays a brilliance a everyone can appreciate, especially if you are stoned.

Yee Haw

Fans of old-timey letterpress printing will love the art of YeeHaw Industries at Chelsea Market, much of it made specifically for the installation. Only a few blocks from Pratt Manhattan at 15th street and 9th Avenue, I recommend it.

COMD Agency

The COMD Agency aims at helping Pratt students transition from an educational experience to the professional world by providing the opportunity to become more involved within the active advertising commmunity, as well as creating a student identity for those interested in obtaining the most out of their college years.

Organized events will include guest speakers, portflio reviews, and other social gatherings allowing the advertising majors to develop a better sense of community and extended networking. We are also working on obtaining ADC (Art Directors Club) memberships for the participants, which will be discussed at the weekly group meetings:
Tuesdays at 12:45 Steuben 403.

Though advertising majors are strongly encouraged to participate, the agency is open to graphic design and illustration majors as well. If you have any questions concerning the COMD Agency, please feel free to ask.
