Pretty Colors

http://www.colourlovers.com/blog

People underestimate the power of pretty colors. I came across this blog and the colors of some of the posts are simply pretty and happy. I miss that sometimes. Color for color's sake.

Inspiring.

I was shown somebody's design blog recently, and all i could think to myself is "Why can't I do that?". I seem to never be able to do work similar to what I like and am inspired by. My friend then showed me this quote, and it's truly inspiring.

Pain & Sympathy

I love the way William Kentridge talks about pain as inspiration. I am extremely drawn to the beauty and emotion of his work.
These books of objects by Alexander Korzer-Robinson look really amazing. Korzer-Robinson works to make narratives that fit within small formats. His works plays on the idea that we are simultaneously subconsciously remembering and forgetting.

Math + Science = Art

Emilio Cassanese combines mathematical algorithms, biological organisms and wind patterns to create an experimental series "Generative Prints". His designs have given me a new appreciation for math.

Advertising Religion

Years ago my dad insisted that my brother and I watch the "Oh God" movies.  Completely forgot about the series until I turned on my television this afternoon and was greeted by the friendly face of Tracy Richards. I had a sense of what movie it was but as soon as I saw George Burns, childhood memories came flooding back.

This post has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the fact that I find it hilarious that an 11 year old was put in charge of God's PR. She came up with a slogan and enlisted the help of her classmates to bring God back into people's lives...with chalk, glitter and construction paper.

Fascinating.

OnCreativity needs your help!

Below are links to a new project I worked on, and it needs your help. Please spread the word to as many friends as possible, through all the various media channels, thanks! Superfad launched a project today, http://oncreativity.tv - which is a series short interviews with some really talented creative minds on the nature of creativity. We're starting with video interviews of Andrew Zuckerman, Bill Plympton, and glass blower Michael Davis, and we'll be rolling out new videos every couple of weeks. Niko, Cameron, Talia, Jeremy, and their film crew have been working pretty hard to put this together, and we'd appreciate it if you'd check it out, and share it with those you feel might be interested (either online or offline). It's a bit of a social media experiment for us, we'll be trying to generate as much buzz as possible and deciding which channels are most successful at generating an audience for this project. Here are the relevant URLs where you can find oncreativity:

Twitter: http://twitter.com/#! /oncreativity_tv - hashtag #oncreativitytv, user @oncreativity_tv

Thanks for helping to spread the word.
Niko
